Writing Scared For The Climate started with the two most memorable lines from the song "Can I be scared for the climate? Cuz I am scared for the climate" but it was actually "Can I be scared of the climate? Cuz I am scared of the climate" my co-writer oneofthemany changed "of" to "for" as being scared of the climate was speaking into existence things we don't want to happen. Music is magic you know.

Even now, I don't know about my future with punk rock music. I like making electronic music, rnb, afrobeats, alte, disco and alt rnb; rock music is a bit beyond my usual scope.

Some lines like "an de brightness, its a crisis" and "from the continent to de islands" hint at the original ideas around the song. Growing up in East London in the noughties (England, UK) there was a huge Jamaican influence and I still really enjoy artists like Koffee and Lila Ike. Reggae, I find can be so spiritual, so moving and packed with unfiltered truth and thats why I enjoy the music so much. Plus reggae has danceability and the high karaoke factor that draws me to songs on a musical level. I want to be able to dance and also shout the lyrics while I'm showering.

After Katlego suggested a punk rock song could be good for a remix the rap that I had written could apply here. Then once I had produced the punk rock song I fell in love. It was also another genre that was great for truth telling, I just didn't expect it as I hadn't produced other rock music until then. Even now, I don't know about my future with punk rock music. I like making electronic music, rnb, afrobeats, alte, disco and alt rnb; rock music is a bit beyond my usual scope.

I started performing a longer 3min iteration of Scared For The Climate back in 2023 and got great feedback. Ultimately me and oneofthemany decided to move forward with the punk rock song and find a reggae producer in the future.

- I feel like we've been made to feel ridiculous and outrageous for caring about the climate or having climate anxiety so I am asking a rhetorical question. I shouldn't have to ask permission to feel things but it feels like that in the society we live in.

- I am scared and worried about the climate, climate change, nature and the environment. Environmental scientists are also just as concerned as I am.

Lets clean the seas more

- seas and oceans around the world are littered with clothes, micro plastics and other waste and it's impacting sea creatures.

Feed the bees more

- with the loss of plant life and changing weather conditions bees are impacted by climate change and in some places the bee population is decreasing.

Arctic seas warm

- temperatures around the Arctic and Antarctica are rising and melting enormous icebergs

Plastic sea shores

- plastic pollution is destroying beaches around the world especially in the Global South

- sea creatures deserve better than pollution

-illegal hunters are disrupting habitats and ecosystems

- there are more hurricanes due to climate change and they are getting stronger

-In some places winters are warmer but in others winters are harsher for longer

Extreme weather

-We are witnessing extreme flooding due to extreme rainfall, extreme heatwaves both have killed thousands of people and injured millions

-Authoritarian states, megacorpations and the Private Jet Class have lied to people around the world about the effects of climate change, oil and fracking

Too much money Too much spillin'

-There is an absurd about of money in fossil fuel and that's the priority for oil companies that have had multiple oil spills with no consequences
